Bob cites his retirement passion and love of children for the 300,000 light show computer programed and synchronized to 54 songs playing for three hours without repeating. Bob and Sam receive help from their son and daughter in their illumination projects (shown below) with all items of the display being designed and handmade by the Bailey’s. Friday and Saturday nights until Christmas you can expect an appearance from Jolly St. Nick at the Bailey’s handing out candy canes to an expected 1,800 children.

Written by InsideDP.com Staff. Posted in Community

Simeon H. WestAs a finale to the City of Deer Park's year-long 125th anniversary celebration, City Council member Sherry Garrison is returning to Deer Park Public Library for an encore of her popular presentation from January, which tells the story of Deer Park founder Simeon West. The address will also touch on several events throughout the year that spotlighted West’s impact on Deer Park.

The presentation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15 in the library’s meeting room.

“This presentation will explore who Simeon West was, where he came from, his interests and beliefs, and his vision for Deer Park,” Garrison said. “We have learned a lot about Simeon and his family this year, some of it from his great, great grandchildren and some of it from a series of letters written in his own hand.”
