Simeon H. WestAs a finale to the City of Deer Park's year-long 125th anniversary celebration, City Council member Sherry Garrison is returning to Deer Park Public Library for an encore of her popular presentation from January, which tells the story of Deer Park founder Simeon West. The address will also touch on several events throughout the year that spotlighted West’s impact on Deer Park.

The presentation will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15 in the library’s meeting room.

“This presentation will explore who Simeon West was, where he came from, his interests and beliefs, and his vision for Deer Park,” Garrison said. “We have learned a lot about Simeon and his family this year, some of it from his great, great grandchildren and some of it from a series of letters written in his own hand.”
